The Trio Weber / Guy / Nill comprises the Berne Duo Katharina Weber, piano und Balts Nill, percussion, who have been playing together for several years, and the internationally known English bass player Barry Guy, who lives in Switzerland and who joined the others specially for this project.

The three play together in free improvisation but take inspiration from foregoing short piano pieces by the great Hungarian composer György Kurtág (*1926) .These pieces are from the "Játékok" (Playthings), an 8-volume collection which was first meant for children, but then became ever more part of his personal compositional experiments.

Without necessarily taking these pieces as musical material, the improvisations are however strongly influenced by Kurtág's condensed musical language.
